The Luigi Nono Archives, Fondamenta San Biagio on the island of Giudecca in the district of Dorsoduro) was founded in 1993 by Nuria Schoenberg Nono with the purpose of preserving and promoting the legacy of this Venetian composer. It contains thousands of music manuscripts, studio recordings and sound studies of his compositions, his correspondence comprising thousands of letters exchanged with famous exponents of Italian and international culture, a rich library with over 10,000 books, a collection of over 1,200 records, critical essays and photographic and audiovisual documentation of the life and work of the composer.
The Archives are used as a meeting place and a research and study centre dealing with the issues of contemporary music.
